PROCESS

Simply place your order here and fill out the pop-up form. I usually require one or a few reference photos of the subjects, plus any special details you’d hope to see included in your portrait, like defining features or a background color preference. You’ll have the opportunity to review a sketch before painting takes place, but no further edits will be made after painting. (This is in order to keep the price point achievable.) Your portrait will then be shipped in protective packaging and will be ready to hang!

IMPORTANT NOTICES

• Turnaround Time: Varied. Usually 2-3+ weeks. Please note that the turnaround time on custom illustration work is significantly longer than that of a standard product order, and is dependent upon my current schedule. Please let me know if you have a specific deadline in mind and I will do my best to accommodate!

• Holiday Orders: The Winter Holidays are our busiest time for portraits! Please consider getting your custom orders in right away. Orders will close at a point when my schedule is too full to accommodate, or on December 1st (whichever comes first), in order to guarantee delivery before the Holidays.

• Mixed Orders: If you order other products along with your portrait, your products will not ship out until your portrait is complete and ready to ship. Please consider ordering your time-sensitive products separately from any custom portrait orders so that your product order is not delayed!

• Sizing: Our portraits are typically 5x5 inches; please reach out if you have questions or requests for different sizing.

• Medium: If you’ve ordered a custom portrait in the past, please note that our portraits used to be painted in gouache paint, but now are digitally illustrated, as are all of our greeting cards and prints. I’ve made this shift for several reasons — it saves money on art supplies and paper, brings your portrait more in line with the style you see in my other products, and allows for much easier editing. All of my illustrations use a “painterly” style, and will still have the same gorgeous texture and detail as a traditional painting. Please note that no refunds will be given to customers who expected a traditional painting.
